SAPULPA WRESTLING: IT’S A TRADITION

During the Broken Arrow Joe Zamora/Skyler Holman Open several Sapulpa wrestlers stepped up and made the podium. Johnathan Warford got things started with his first place finish at 113-pounds. Warford pinned Lewis Moulton from Jay in :42 seconds. An impressive victory for Warford. =That was followed up with a 2nd place finish for Brandon Blose at 120-pounds. Blose cruised to the finals where he faced Jakob Lyons of Tahlequah. In the finals Lyons pulled out the win giving Blose 2nd. Blose returns for his senior season after qualifying for state last year at 106-pounds. Blose may be the teams best shot at a state champion since Shea Conley won the 138-pound bracket in 2013. At 220-pounds Keland Bearpaw grabbed a 1st place finish when he defeated Julian Flores of Broken Arrow, 4-1 in the finals. Bearpaw continues to show tremendous improvement and is one wrestler to keep an eye open during regionals.
